The Doves Nest is situated on the Island of Kefalonia which is considered to be one of the most beautiful Greek Islands in the Ionian Sea.  We are based on the south east side of the Island between Poros and Skala in an area known as Peristerias, which means "The Land of the Doves".  In years gone by Doves use to nest in the rock crevices and caves near the sea.  We have re-introduced these beautiful White Doves, which originate from the homing pigeons ( Rock Doves ) back into the area.

The Doves Nest provides a professional Dove Release Service to commemorate your special event.  Our Doves can be present at your Wedding, Renewing  your wedding vows, Name days, Birthdays, Baptisms, the list is endless.  We can also provide our Dove Release Service to the Islands of Zante and Ithaki.   We pride ourselves on conducting our White Dove Releases by taking the utmost care and attention to detail.  Doves have been used in ceremonies all over the world for centuries.  Their beauty is truly breathtaking and they have the ability to create a memory that guests will remember and talk about for years to come. 

There is a phrase, "Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away".  A Dove release is one of those moments that will truly take your breath away.

The Dove has been a symbol of peace, Love, Fidelity,  Joy, Divine Presence, and the Soul, for thousands of years,  in many different cultures.  In ancient Greek Mythology it was a symbol of love and a renewal of life.  Aphrodite the Goddess of Love was said to have been born from an egg which fell into the Euphrates River.  Doves nested upon the egg to provide the warmth it needed to hatch, and gave life to the Goddess Aphrodite.
